Workshops

Jan regularly runs machine embroidery workshops.

These workshops provide opportunities to learn and develop free machine embroidery techniques in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

They combine direct tuition to the whole group, individual help and plenty of time to experiment.


2010 - COLDHARBOUR MILL, UFFCULME

SPRING CHATELAINE WEEKEND WORKSHOP



A chatelaine is a small waist hung bag and instructions will be given to make your embroidered fabric into a useful bag for i-pod, mobile pnone, specs etc.
This workshop explores different ways of bonding fabrics and will provide an opportunity to develop accuracy when stitching

JUMPER TO HANDBAG WEEKEND WORKSHOP - Turn a well-loved jumper and scarf into a handbag.
Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th May

DESIGN AND MAKE YOUR OWN HANDBAG - From prototype to finished bag - create an idividual handbag.
Wednesday 16th - Sunday 20th June

PAINT IT, PRINT IT, STITCH IT! A week to experiment - will include silk painting (using steam fixed paints), avariety of printing techniwues and free motion embroidery.
Wednesday 11th - Sunday 15th August - Only a few places left.

A day to explore the use of heat guns to distort synthetic fabrics

FABRIC MANIPULATION
Manipulate fabrics to create texture - a variety of techniques will be taught.
Wednesday 14th April

AUTUMN GOLD
Use bondaweb and layered fabrics to make an autumn inspired panel
Wednesday 6th October

SPARKLE PURSE
Stitch a small purse for your mobile phone, spectacles etc. Heat guns will be used!
