I teach workshops and host social sewing days – Coffee and Cloth – in Tiverton and South Brent. I also teach occasional workshops at Jam on Top Textiles (Colliton Barton) and Exeter Sewing Machine Co.

TIVERTON 2025
As well as Coffee and Cloth days, I will be offering a series of Messy Play days this year for those who want to expand their creative practice into paint, print, collage etc. I do not teach on these days, but will advise and share ideas and techniques.
Coffee and Cloth days:
July 8th, August 12th, September 16th, October 14th, November 11th, December 2nd and 9th. All dates are fully booked, but occasionally there is a cancellation so please get in touch if you would like to go on a waiting list.
Messy Play days:
Please note - these are not taught sessions. I may do a quick introduction, but I will be playing too.

COLLITON BARTON TRAINING CENTRE, BROADHEMBURY, EX14 3LJ - 2025/26
Exciting news - I will be working from my own studio now situated at Colliton Barton Training Centre. Jam on Top Textiles is next door so if you are visiting for a workshop there is also a lovely fabric to tempt you.
As well as workshops, there will be Coffee and Cloth days and Messy Play days.
Coffee and Cloth days are social sewing days - bring along your own projects to work on. Advice may be asked for, but there is no teaching on these days.
Messy Play days are for those who want to experiment with a more art based approach to textiles and mixed media projects. No teaching, just enjoy being creative with others.

2025/26
STITCHED SURFACE TEXTURE - the following three workshops will focus on ways of creating your own unique textiles using different fabrics, free motion embroidery and a variety of base fabrics. They are ideal for those who enjoy making bags, home accessories etc. and wish to move their creations onto another level or for those who want to explore and create art textiles.
DAY ONE- Saturday 28th February 2026 - RAISED SURFACES - Using free motion embroidery you will raise the surface of your fabrics to create rich textured surfaces.
DAY TWO - Saturday 11th April 2026 - CUT, SLASH, DISTRESS - Create exciting textures by cutting back layers of fabric - from the precision of chenille to layers of fabric cut randomly with a knife. You will create a variety of textures using a variety of fabrics in surprising combinations.
DAY THREE - Saturday 20th June - WEBS, NETS AND HOLES - At this workshop you will be taught a variety of ways to create lacy textures which can be applied ontho other fabrics or incorporated ito larger pieces of work.
Small sewing projects: Zipped Pouches, Boxy Trug, Christmas Crackers - These projects are available to book as individual or small tutored groups.
COFFEE AND CLOTH DAYS 2025
I will be hosting my popular Coffee and Cloth days at Jam on Top Textiles. These are social sewing days - no teaching, bring your own projects to work on.
Booking is essential.

MESSY PLAY DAYS -2025
I will be hosting “messy play” days each month. The emphasis will be on creative play and developing ideas for textile/mixed media art projects. There will a little bit of tuition, but I will be playing too. I will be encouraging participants to enjoy the processes - keeping a messy journal and seeing where the ideas lead.
